Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions cover the sale of GLOBAL VILLAGE products contained on this website. Please read through these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the website and also read through our privacy policy regarding your personal information. By placing an order with GLOBAL VILLAGE you are agreeing to the Terms and Conditions as set out below. Orders

 All orders that you place on this website will be subject to acceptance in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
 All orders are subject to availability.
 On placing your order enquiry we will send you an email indicating that your order enquiry has been received, the items requested, the price and that we are checking availability of stock. Please note that this email is not an order confirmation or order acceptance from us.
 Quantity and description of your order will be as set out in the acknowledgment of order enquiry email.
 Once availability and price are agreed by the customer via phone or email the order will be put on our system and you will be given a reference number.
 Acceptance of your order takes place on dispatch. We will inform you once your items have been dispatched from our warehouse.
 We reserve the right to refuse delivery to any individual or company.
 We reserve the right to discontinue products.

Standard delivery accessory items

 All standard delivery accessory items, subject to availability, will be dispatched directly from our warehouse and will be dispatched within 5 working days of the 'acknowledgement of order' email. In the event of unforeseen circumstances which necessarily delay your delivery, we will inform accordingly. Cost of delivery will be added to the cost of your order and will be agreed prior to dispatch.
 Our terms, conditions and guarantees do not apply once items are removed from Republic of Ireland

Furniture/Van delivery items

 All furniture/'Van delivery' orders are subject to a 50% deposit at point of order. Your order will be followed up by a call within 48 hours to confirm availability, lead time and arrange a delivery time. The remaining 50% payment will be requested when delivery is being arranged.
 Furniture items may be dispatched separately from any accessory items and a further delivery cost will apply for the accessory item.
 Heavier items such as mirrors and rugs etc will be handled as if they are a furniture/van delivery item and charged at the furniture delivery rates listed below.
 Should you require your bed assembled on delivery a bed assembly charge of €25 applies.
 'On order' items - These items are currently not in stock but have been ordered by us from our suppliers. We anticipate an average waiting time of between 4-6 weeks for delivery however this is only an approximation and so cannot be guaranteed.
 If a furniture item is 'out of stock' you can request to be listed on the waiting list. Requesting to 'reserve an item' is not a firm guarantee that you will receive the item. You will receive a call from your local store upon doing so to discuss waiting times. You may be required to place a deposit to secure the item.
 These delivery estimations shall be in no form binding upon us and shall at no point be a condition of any contractual obligation with you.
 Once furniture products ordered are available, we are happy to store the items for up to two weeks. At the end of this period, storage will be charged on a weekly basis at 5% of the order total until the goods are delivered.
 It is your responsibility to measure both the access and final resting space of your pieces of furniture. Should we deliver an item and find it will not fit due to lack of measuring, it will be entirely at the discretion of Global Village whether we agree to allow the item be returned and if it is allowed to be returned we will be obliged to charge a collection fee.
 Due to the rustic effect of much of the wood we use and the handmade quality of the furniture, each piece is likely to be very different in measurements, appearance, colour and finish. Dimensions may differ by up to +/- 3cm from the sizes given in this brochure: to avoid disappointment on the day, please bear this in mind when measuring your space and ordering your furniture.
 Our drivers and staff will deliver through ground floor and basement level only. We do not have equipment or insurance to winch items through windows.
 Should no one be present to receive the furniture at the pre-arranged time, a relevant delivery fee will be charged, (irrespective of your invoice) for re-delivery.
 48 hours notice is required for cancellation of a pre-arranged delivery.
 All items must be signed for at the point of delivery. In signing the delivery note, you are acknowledging that the item(s) delivered are in good condition and in no way faulty or damaged.
 You are responsible for checking that all details and aspects of your order are correct and suitable for your requirements, including measurements, quantities, dimensions, product features, colours and textures.
 No claims will be entertained if not reported within 48 hours of delivery

Overseas Orders

 At present we cannot accept overseas orders online. We are happy to accept orders by phone providing you arrange for your own courier/shipping. Please contact Customer Services.
 On signing for your item(s) at the point of collection you/your courier is confirming that the item(s) have been delivered by us satisfactorily. Please note that the GLOBAL VILLAGE guarantee is not valid for items taken outside the Republic of Ireland.

Call Backs

 If you are unsure about placing your furniture order online you could request a callback in order to speak to a member of staff directly. We will endeavor to call you back within 48 hours.
Cancellations and Amendments
 You have the right to cancel your order at any time before your order has begun to be processed. If your order has been, or is being, processed, please follow our returns procedure (as detailed below).
 We will try to accommodate any changes you wish to make after your order has been placed, but, given that your order will be processed immediately on receipt, we cannot guarantee this. If you do wish to make an amendment to your order, please contact customer services.

Product Descriptions

 Every effort is made to ensure that the products we supply correspond as closely as possible to the samples displayed in our stores, shown in our marketing material or online, but due to the handmade nature of many of our products there might be slight variations. No responsibility can be accepted for these variations. These could include, but are not limited to, slight differences in shades of fabric or dimensions of products.
 Please bear in mind that computer browsers may present colours slightly differently.

Delivery Charges

Delivery charges are applicable to all deliveries.
 Small items delivered by one person in Dublin - €25 min.
 Larger items delivered by two people in Dublin - €50 min.
 Wicklow and Kildare - €50 min.
• Louth and Meath - €70 min.
 Carlow, Cavan, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Monaghan, Offaly, Westmeath and Wexford - €100 min.
 All other counties - €150 min.
 Bed assembly - €25
 A surcharge of €50 min. will apply to: West Cork, South Kerry, West Galway, West Mayo and Donegal.
Charge includes placing the item in the room of your choice, assembling the product (except for beds - see separate charge above) and removing and recycling of the packaging.
Alternatively items can be collected free of charge from our Tallaght warehouse by prior arrangement.
Items being delivered up more than two flights of stairs will attract additional charges.
Accessory items sent by post will be charged at the cost of postage.
Delivery charges may vary depending on location, access etc.

Prices

• Prices include VAT and exclude delivery charges.
• Prices on our website supersede prices published in other or previous publications but are not binding if errors are made.
• All prices are correct at time of going to press. We reserve the right to alter prices either up or down, including any variations to the rate of VAT.

Payment

• Full payment must be made before any product is dispatched from our warehouse.
• We accept Visa, MasterCard, Visa, Delta, Switch or American Express.
• All 'Van delivery' orders are subject to a 50% deposit at the time of order. Your order will then be followed up by a telephone call within 48 hours of your order, from your local store to arrange a delivery time. The remaining 50% of the purchase price will be requested at the point of the telephone call.

Returns

Standard delivery of accessory items

• In the rare event that an item arrives faulty or damaged please contact our customer service department on receipt and we will arrange a replacement or refund at the discretion of Global Village. However Global Village will not be responsible for goods collected by the customer or their agent(s) once they are dispatched from our warehouse.
 If for any other reason you are unhappy with any item, please return the item(s) along with a completed returns form within 7 days of receiving the goods. Providing the item(s) are still in a completely saleable condition and in their original packaging, we will issue a full refund.
 Refunds will be issued to the card which was used to place the order once we have received the item(s) back in our warehouse.
 Please note that we will not refund the initial delivery charges except if the item(s) are being returned due to damage or a fault.
 The cost of returning goods is your responsibility and the item(s) are your responsibility until they arrive at the warehouse. We therefore recommend using a recorded delivery service for returns.

Furniture/ Van Delivery items

 For the return of non-standard delivery goods please contact our Customer Service department on 01 4597454 or customerservice@globalvillage.ie
 The wood used in our furniture products often has a rustic look making each item slightly different in measurements, appearance, colour and finish. We will not exchange items on a 'like for like' basis purely on the grounds of the character of the wood.
 Should an item arrive faulty, we will automatically offer either a replacement or a full refund. . However Global Village will not be responsible for goods collected by the customer or their agent(s) once they are dispatched from our warehouse.
 We reserve the right to repair an item rather than replacing it.
 If there is any other reason why you are not happy with the item(s), please contact us within 7 days of receiving the goods and, providing they are still in a completely saleable condition, we will issue a full refund minus the delivery charge relevant for your area.
 Refunds will be issued to the card that was used to place the order once we have received the goods back in the warehouse.
 If you paid 50% deposit online for your furniture and the further balance upon confirmation of your delivery, your refund may be in two separate installments.

Liability

 We reserve the right to accept, refuse, or limit your order for any reason, including, but not limited to, credit review, the unavailability of a product or errors in prices and products descriptions posted on the website.
 Our total liability in contract, tort (including negligence or breach of statutory duty), misrepresentation, restitution or otherwise, arising in connection with the performance or contemplated performance of your order shall be limited to the purchase price

Title and Risk

 The goods will be at your risk from the time of delivery.
 Ownership of the goods will only pass to you when we receive full payment of all sums due in respect of the goods, including delivery charge.

Guarantee

 All furniture is guaranteed for one year, on condition that each item is cared for and maintained correctly.
 Where appropriate, GLOBAL VILLAGE will repair the item free of charge during this period, or will replace it if necessary.
 This does not affect your statutory rights.
Our Right to Vary These Terms and Conditions
 We have the right to revise and amend these terms and conditions from time to time.
 You will be subject to the policies and terms and conditions in force at the time that you order products from us, unless any change to those policies or these terms and conditions is required to be made by law or governmental authority (in which case it will apply to orders previously placed by you), or if we notify you of the change to those policies or these terms and conditions before we send you the confirmation email (in which case we have the right to assume that you have accepted the change to the terms and conditions, unless you notify us to the contrary within seven working days of receipt by you of the item(s)).
Law and Jurisdiction
The laws of the Republic of Ireland govern these Terms and Conditions and all disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Ireland.

Security and Privacy Policy

Privacy

 Your privacy is important to us so we only use the information you provide about yourself when using this website to assist us in improving our service to you. We do not share this information with any 3rd party except where you have previously consented.
 We use return email addresses to verify your order and to confirm that the goods requested have been dispatched. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

Data Protection

 To comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 we are required to inform you that we have recorded your name and address on our computer system for the sole purpose of processing your order. Please let us know if you object to us keeping this information by contacting Customer Services and we will unsubscribe you at any time.
 We will keep you up to date with our news and offers only if you have opted to receive this.
 Your name and address will not be given or sold to any 3rd parties.
 You have the right to access details of the personal information we are holding and to correct any discrepancies in that information. In accordance with the applicable Data Protection laws, we reserve the right to charge an administrative fee in respect of such requests. Given the nature of the information you are seeking access to, we are entitled to request identification from you before dealing with any requests of this nature.
 Should you wish to access your personal information, please confirm in writing to us.

Cookies

 A cookie is an alphanumeric identifier which we transfer to your hard drive through your web browser when you visit our website. It enables our own system to recognise you when you visit our website again and improve our service to you.
 Cookies may also be used to compile aggregate information about areas of our website that are visited most frequently. This traffic information can be used to enhance the content of our website and make your use of it easier.
 We do not track which pages you look at whilst visiting our website.
 If you wish to reject our cookie you can configure your browser to do so. You can do this by changing the settings on your computer via the ‘preferences’ or ‘options’ menu in your browser.
 Please remember, cookies do not contain confidential information such as your home address, telephone number or credit card details.
 We do not exchange cookies with any 3rd party websites or external data supplies.

Intellectual Property and Right to Use it.

 You acknowledge and agree that all copyright, trademarks and all other intellectual property rights in all material or content supplied as part of this website shall remain at all times vested in us or our licensors. You are permitted to use this material only as expressly authorised by us or our licensors.
 You acknowledge and agree that the material and content contained within this website is made available for your personal non-commercial use only and that you may (if necessary to make a purchase on this website) download such material and content onto only one computer hard drive for such purpose.
 Any other use of the material and content of this website is strictly prohibited. You agree not to (and agree not to assist or facilitate any third party to) copy, reproduce, transmit, publish, display, distribute, commercially exploit or create derivative works of such material and content.
